About Synthalingua

Synthalingua is an advanced, self-hosted tool that leverages the power of artificial intelligence to translate audio from various languages into English in near real time, offering the possibility of multilingual outputs. This innovative solution utilizes both GPU and CPU resources to handle input transcription and translation, ensuring optimized performance.

While currently in beta and not perfect, Synthalingua is actively being developed and will receive regular updates to further enhance its capabilities.

Synthalingua started as a very personal project for me. I was inspired by my love for VTubers, many of whom I could only understand through translated clips on YouTube. I wanted to experience their streams live, in real time, with the same depth and connection that native speakers enjoyed. While I could already watch live, it just wasn’t the same without fully understanding what was being said in the moment. That frustration turned into motivation, and I began working on a tool that could break through and improve the experience.

What started as a small, personal endeavor quickly grew into something much larger than I could have imagined. The idea that language should never be a barrier to connection, whether in the VTuber community or beyond, really resonated with me. I wanted to create something that would allow anyone, anywhere, to fully experience the rich conversations, emotions, and stories that come from people speaking in their own native tongue - and that’s how Synthalingua was born.
